Research Topics

  • Assistive Robotics (UCF/MIT^2)
    • A study of hidden prejudices towards assistive robotics. Worked on a team to develop an Implicit Association Test, videos of robotic functions, robot programming, and administer experimentation of over 200 participants. Performed statistical analyses to measure correlation of attitudes towards robots based on visual representation versus performance.
  • Effects of Prolonged Spaceflight on Circadian Rhythm and REM Sleep (UCF/MIT^2/NASA)
    • A study in partnership with NASA considering manned flights to Mars. The study considered human performance given a change in circadian rhythm and REM sleep cycles. The study required access to files of NASA ISS crew members and surveying current and past astronauts.
  • Distracted Driving and Reaction Times (UCF/MIT^2/University of Norway)
    • A cross-cultural study of distracted driving and reaction times. Assisted in the monitoring, training, and administration of experimentation using a driving simulator for 1000 participants. The study involved texting while driving, free recall memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory.
